But first, there's too many buts

The "BUT FIRST" Syndrome.
We all have it.

You decide to do the laundry.  So you start down the stairs with the laundry, but then you see the newspapers on the table.  OK, you'll do the laundry.........

BUT FIRST you decide to put the newspapers away.  On your way to put the newspapers away, you notice the mail on the table.  OK, you'll put the newspapers away........

BUT FIRST you'll pay that bill that needs to be paid.  You look for the checkbook.  Oops...  there's the baby's bottle from yesterday on the floor.  OK, you'll pay the bill........

BUT FIRST you need to put the bottle in the sink.  You head for the kitchen.  There's the remote for the TV. What's it doing in here?  OK, you'll put the bottle in the sink.....

BUT FIRST you need to put the remote away.  Head for the TV room.  Aaagh!!!  stepped on the cat!  Cat needs to be fed.  OK, you'll put the remote away...

BUT FIRST you need to feed the cat.  At the end of the day......  The laundry is not done; newspapers are still on the floor; baby's bottle is on the table; bills are still unpaid; checkbook is still lost; cat ate the remote control.......

And when you stop to figure out how come nothing got done all day, you are baffled because......you know you were busy ALL DAY!!

Ahhhhh ---- the "BUT FIRST" Syndrome

Time waits for no one

It's now coming to the end of the year. Time for reflection, and time for forward planning.
I hope you can realise the value of time.

To realize the value of one year:
ask a student who has failed a final exam

To realize the value of one month:
ask a mother who has given a birth to a premature baby.

To realize the value of one week:
ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize the value of one hour:
ask the lovers who are waiting to meet.

To realize the value of one minute:
ask the person who has missed the train, bus or plane.

To realize the value of one second:
ask a person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Time waits for no one .
Treasure every moment you have.

Take time out for ten things

Just received a call from a tele-marketeer. Had to reject him nicely as I don't really have the time AT ALL for anything else other than work and family.
We should take time out for ten things, though.

Take time out to work ~It is the price of success.

Take time out to think ~It is the source of power.

Take time out to play ~It is the secret of youth.

Take time out to read ~It is the foundation of knowledge.

Take time out to pray ~It is the highway of reverence and helps bring God near.

Take time out to help and enjoy friends ~This is the source of happiness.

Take time out to love ~It is the one sacrament of life.

Take time out to dream ~It hitches the soul to the stars.

Take time out to laugh ~It is the singing that eases life's load.

Take time out to spend with family ~It will be good for your heart.
